Set Up
It will be hot, per usual, so a pop-up tent is suggested. No generators are allowed, only battery-operated items. No grills, griddles, smokers, kiddie pools, etc. will be allowed. We will be setting up on the south side of the building/natatorium, on the large lawn under the pines. Note: the soccer field and tennis courts near the lawn is off limits. There is a glass double door RIGHT side looking at the building, to enter the pool/ready bench hallway. Swimmers are advised to please wear shoes to come up to the builing. Families are asked to help us by cleaning up after themselves during and after the meet is done.
Swimmer Check in
Swimmers are asked to arrive at the pool by 6:50 a.m. They must check in by 7:20 a.m. at the latest. Any swimmer checked in after 7:20 a.m. runs the risk of being scratched for the entire meet. Coaches will be set up on the far side of the pool deck closest to the wall of windows.
Volunteers
Since this an invitationals meet, there will be THREE Volunteer shifts during the meet. Volunteers need to check-in with your Volunteer Coordinator, immediately after you’ve checked in your swimmer(s) for the meet. Our Volunteer Coordinator will be located next to the swimmer check-in. If you are volunteering in a position you have never done before, you will be put in contact with the right person to get you situated in your duties.
Spectators
There is absolutely ZERO set-up inside the natatorium. You must enter and watch your swimmer, and immediately head back outside. This is a large event with a LOT of spectators, please be respectful and make room for everyone to see their kids. NO FOOD/DRINK allowed on the second floor. No noise makers allowed in the stands. There is a staircase inside the access doors that lead to the observation stands. They are on the second level. Spectators will not be allowed in the natatorium on the ground level. (You can view swimmers through glass wall in most races.)
Tips and Tricks
- Apply Sunscreen before arriving and remember to reapply throughout the day this is for you and your swimmer.
- Concessions will be available. If you do not wish to purchase food/drinks make sure you bring water and snacks from home.
- Make sure your swimmer brings their goggles (it's always a good idea to have an extra pair on hand)
- If your swimmer has long hair they MUST wear a swim cap.
- I know this sounds silly but don't forget your towel(s).
- We will have a few pop up tents but if you have one you might want to bring one, it is to be very sunny and warm and you will want to get out of the sun.
- Bring chairs and blankets to sit in between events.
- Bring things to do while you wait on events. Cards, coloring books and crayons, board games are all good things to have to pass the time.
- Bring a Sharpie to write Event numbers on your child.
